Western Bulldogs players travelled across Victoria on Wednesday as part of the AFL’s competition-wide country visits.
The Bulldogs playing group was spread between Ballarat, Portland, Corryong, Yarrawonga and Wodonga, visiting schools and local communities groups.
The players conducted clinics for students and held leadership discussions with senior students at schools across Victoria.
Jack Redpath, who visited Ballarat, said it was important to visit young fans and remembered fondly his own experiences as a student.
“When I was a kid I loved it, we had some Carlton players come to my school and I think you remember that for a long time, I even remember it now.”
“I think the kids really enjoy it… it’s a bit of fun during their class time so it’s really good.”
Redpath was joined at Dana St Primary School in Ballarat by Luke Dahlhaus, Lachie Hunter, Will Minson and Shane Biggs.
Bulldogs players will continue to meet fans this week, with player appearances at various shopping centres in Melbourne’s western suburbs on Thursday. To find out more, click here.
