Star midfielder Jack Macrae has earned his second All Australian honour, making it back-to-back selections following his 2019 campaign.
The 26-year-old has enjoyed another prolific season, racking up possessions to feature in the final 22 alongside Western Bulldogs teammates Caleb Daniel and Marcus Bontempelli.
Both Daniel and Bontempelli credited Macrae with having a huge impact in 2020.
Caleb Daniel on Jack Macrae…
He’s obviously a great player and a great team player, I think that’s been recognised this year with his selection in this side.
The way he’s been able to perform for us has been instrumental.
He’s someone who really cares about how you go in the game and he looks to help his teammates as much as possible.
He’s got that perfect blend of inside and outside. He’s got that hard edge, he’s really aggressive at the footy and the opponent and he’s got great skills.
Marcus Bontempeli on Jack Macrae…
He’s been able to follow up last year’s season and go to probably another level.
That’s in terms of still being able to accumulate the way that he has been in shorter game time but also influencing in the other phases – defensively, his source pressure and willingness to help his teammates has sky-rocketed.
I’m really stoked that he’s got the recognition externally, because internally we’ve been reliant on his football this season.
