The Western Bulldogs will see a number of firsts when they take to the field against Greater Western Sydney in the NAB Cup - Senior Coach Brendan McCartney’s first game as coach, first team to line up against the GWS Giants and the first time Bulldogs fans will see the team kitted up in a red hoops guernsey.
The NAB Cup guernsey will mark the first time that the red hoops playing strip is featured as the Club puts the Red back in the Red, White and Blue.
The Bulldogs see the red hoops playing strip as an exciting NAB Cup Guernsey for their fans.
Senior player Adam Cooney commented that it was a striking new guernsey jokingly drawing attention to how it blends in with his red hair colour.
“We have gone back to the traditional hoops and we are wearing the red one this week [for NAB Cup],” Cooney said.
“It looks very nice - not on me, but it is a very nice jumper.”
