Western Bulldogs midfielder Tom Liberatore has suffered a suspected ACL injury to his right knee, the Club has confirmed.
The 25-year-old will undergo scans in the next 24 hours.
Liberatore injured the knee after being pushed off the line while in pursuit of Giant, Josh Kelly and took no further part in the game.
Western Bulldogs coach Luke Beveridge spoke to the media post-match, saying the Club would rally around the young star as he works toward a return.
"It's really unfortunate and disappointing. We were hoping for a bit of good luck with injury this year, but we haven't started off too well," he said.
"It's going to be a grind again, it's a tough time to recuperate from an ACL injury and Tom had a tough time of it last time, so we need to support him through it.
