The Western Bulldogs welcomed five new recruits through the 2024 Telstra AFL Draft.
Pick 20: Cooper Hynes
A strong-bodied forward-midfielder, Cooper Hynes is a product of the Dandenong Stingrays with clean hands and explosiveness out of the stoppage. Co-captain of the Stingrays in the most recent campaign, he booted 23 goals in 15 games to go with an average of 23.7 disposals.
Pick 29: Lachie Jaques
Lachie Jaques is a rebound defender with outstanding intercept marking abilities from the Geelong Falcons. He co-captained the Falcons to the minor premiership, while also claiming their Best and Fairest medal as a composed, consistent and competitive player.
Pick 31: Josh Dolan
Touted as one of the draft’s most underrated prospects, Josh is a creative and hard-working half-forward who can also go through the midfield. Chosen with Pick 31, the Sandringham Dragons product made a strong impression early in the season before a meniscus injury ended his campaign.
Pick 51: Sam Davidson
Currently studying medicine at university, Sam Davidson is a mature-age tall forward from Richmond VFL with impressive aerial ability and running capacity. He was plucked from local footy in Gippsland and did not disappoint, kicking 26 goals across 17 games to claim the Fothergill-Round-Mitchell medal as the league’s most promising young player.
Pick 62: Luke Kennedy
Luke Kennedy is a speedy defensive midfielder with clean hands from the Sandringham Dragons. Known for his terrific ball-use, endurance and vision, Kennedy’s ability to kick on both feet is also highly regarded.
