Statement from Western Bulldogs Chief Executive Simon Garlick:
The Western Bulldogs today terminated the services of Dr. Richard Vucinic as a doctor with the Club's VFL side.
The Club took this action after becoming aware of allegations relating to Dr. Vucinic which were aired in the Melbourne Magistrates Court today.
Dr. Vucinic commenced a role with the Bulldogs VFL side in November 2013 after following a rigorous employment process that met the standards and protocols specified for Club personnel.
Dr. Vucinic was one of two doctors engaged to provide part-time medical services for the VFL team.
The total ambit of oversight and processes in place at the Club cause us to believe that there has been no breach of any relevant drug code or law by any player on our AFL list or VFL List relevant to today's revelations.
The Club will of course conduct on-going inquiries into the matter in partnership with the AFL and appropriate authorities and we have also referred the matter to the Western Bulldogs Independent Ethics and Integrity Committee.
