Daniel Giansiracusa has gained a reputation for making an impact on-field when released from the substitutes vest, but his role whilst on the sidelines has proven equally valuable.
With experienced players increasingly been seen as on-field coaches for their younger peers, it has been a similar role the Bulldogs' veteran forward has played whilst in the green vest.
“I try to stay involved in the game on the bench and talk to the guys as they come off with that coaching aspect that I’m heading towards,” Giansiracusa said in a radio interview on SEN 1116.
“That keeps me in the game and I think I can have an impact when I come on.
“I’m continually talking to those coaches in the coaching box if they need me to relay a message down to the other players.”
Giansiracusa said the Club was working hard to implement the strategies laid our by Senior Coach Brendan McCartney and his coaching staff every time the hit the field.
“I think it’s quite evident that Macca is about the contest but this is his third year now and we have to add to that,” he said.
“What we talk about here at the club is three phase footy and it hasn’t changed for 150 years that there are three aspects of the game that you have to be competent at.
“We are working towards that as a side at the moment.”
Looking forward, the 32-year-old has complete faith in the emerging group of young Bulldogs and the direction they will take the Club in.
“I have got full confidence that the guys that we’ve drafted in the last couple of years are going to be top line players and for a long time at this footy Club,” he said.
“We are looking forward to that, we are trying to fast track their development as quickly as possible because then we know we will have the onfield success that we want.”
