Inaugural Women’s Clash

To mark AFL’s Women’s Round the Western Bulldogs and Melbourne will this week field two representative teams that will participate in the inaugural female exhibition match curtain raiser at the MCG.
Fifty elite women’s footballers from around Australia, selected in the first national female AFL draft at the MCG in May, will take to the ground donning Bulldogs and Melbourne colours in the first sanctioned match for women.
The Western Bulldogs wish the Dogs players, sponsored by passionate women’s footy advocate and Bulldogs Vice President Susan Alberti, the best of luck in Saturday’s match. The Club would also like to extend thanks to Coach Peta Searle, Assistant Coach Shaun Higgins and all of those who have supported the team for their involvement.
