Brett’s wrist not so Goodes
A minor wrist injury to Brett Goodes is the only news to come out of the Western Bulldogs’ medical room after Saturday night’s match against Richmond.
Goodes will be monitored throughout the week in the lead-up to Saturday’s round 14 clash against Melbourne.
“Brett had a minor injury to his wrist, we will monitor it throughout the week and make a decision closer to the game,” McKenzie said.
McKenzie also said Koby Stevens will undergo a fitness test to determine whether he’ll return on the weekend, but he was confident the 22-year-old was close to a recall.
“Koby is definitely improving, we will assess him throughout the week and we will make a judgement throughout the week,” he said.
Ayce Cordy and Lin Jong both made a return through the VFL on the weekend without any complications in Williamstown’s senior and development side respectively.
“Ayce and Lin both played VFL on the weekend and got through the game unscathed and came in today feeling well,” he said.
“We are happy with their progress and they will be carrying on from here.”
The Bulldogs also expect Fletcher Roberts and Tom Young to return to full training this week, after responding positively to their rehabilitation programs.
McKenzie said both players would be available for selection this weekend.
“Fletcher Roberts and Tom Young have both got through their rehab unscathed and they will be able to play this week, they will be in full training,” he said.
Shaun Higgins has also made steps forward in his program after fracturing his navicular bone.
