It hasn’t taken long for Adam Treloar to endear himself to Western Bulldogs fans.

And he cannot wait to get stuck into 2021 with his new teammates.

Treloar was unveiled as a Bulldog at VU Whitten Oval on Friday morning, after a deadline deal was sealed for the former Collingwood gun on Thursday night.

He got the chance to meet a number of his new teammates in the process, including skipper Marcus Bontempelli and premiership captain Easton Wood.

“I have had a lot of admiration and a lot of respect externally watching the Bulldogs from afar,” Treloar said.

“I love the way they go about it.

“I think they’ve got a great group of guys who are driven and motivated. Now I know that, hearing and speaking with a lot of the guys – a lot of them are training inside at the moment.”

Treloar’s addition bolsters an already formidable midfield group.

The 27-year-old joins Marcus Bontempelli, Jack Macrae, Tom Liberatore, Bailey Smith, Lachie Hunter and Josh Dunkley in an enviable on-ball brigade, that will also boast former Brisbane Lions ruckman Stefan Martin alongside rising star Tim English in 2021.

“Personally I’m pumped that ‘Dunks’ is staying, because externally watching him play I regard him very highly,” Treloar said.

“I think with that dynamic that we have inside, it’s something that is exciting for us going forward.”

The move for Treloar came late in the piece from the Bulldogs, but a meeting with Luke Beveridge ensured him it was the right one.

“The love and care and empathy he was showing Kim and I is something I was drawn to,” Treloar said.

“When he was chatting more about Kim and less about me, I genuinely felt care and love. That was sort of what pushed me over.

“I couldn’t be more happy and more excited about this opportunity.”
