The Western Bulldogs landed in Perth today ahead of Thursday night’s Elimination Final at Domain Stadium, unperturbed by taking on the red-hot Eagles on their home ground.
West Coast have accounted for Greater Western Sydney, Hawthorn and Adelaide in successive weeks, while the old Subiaco has been anything but a happy hunting ground for the Dogs in recent times.
But speaking to media at Perth airport on Wednesday, King said the Bulldogs are ready.
“Most pundits agree that West Coast are in form and it’s on their home deck,” he said.
“But we hold no fears in travelling.
“We’ve had some great wins on the road this year and I think the squad that we’ve brought over this week is really looking forward to the opportunity. “
King said that the bye had come at the right time for the Bulldogs who are expected to welcome back some key players from injury, and the side had learnt some key lessons from their round 23 loss to Fremantle at the same venue.
“We’ve had a great preparation over the last 10-12 days and coming back here again, we’ve learnt a lot from our trip over here two weeks ago, he said.
“We’re just excited to be playing a part in the finals series.”
While rain is predicted tomorrow night King said the Dogs are prepared for anything.
“We’re comfortable playing in any conditions whether it’s dry or wet.
“We think we’ve brought over a team that’s really well-suited to finals footy.
“They’re hard, they run really hard and they win their own footy, so whatever the conditions throw up I’m sure our boys will be ready.”
