Simon Atkins, senior coach of the Werribee Tigers, provides his notes from the weekends Round 4 match against the Northern Bullants

Werribee 11.10 – 76
Northern Bullants 12.7 – 79

Goals: Harbrow 3, Podsiadly 2, Castello 2, Pask, Skipper, Street, Hahn

Best: Castello, Harbrow, Rockfeller, Faulkner, Furfaro, Gleeson

Tom Williams: Played on one of their better forwards and would have been disappointed to have a few goals kicked on him.

Andrejs Everitt: Andrejs was ok without being outstanding, finishing with 16 possessions. He is developing into a good running backman.

Brett Robinson: Not one of his better performances.

Dylan. Addison: Racked up 13 possessions and did a couple of good things playing in the midfield.

Jordan Barham: Was our hardest working forward, his work rate can not be questioned.

Jarrod Harbrow: Worked really hard all day and was pretty busy, finishing with 3 goals. Was a hard one for the opposition to cover.

Teghan Henderson: Was a contributor and set up a number of our forward attacks from the backline.

Wayde Skipper: Rucked well and was very good at the stoppages.

Mitch Hahn: A steady performance with 16 possession and 5 tackles.

James Podsiadly: He started to show some form on the weekend, taking 8 marks and kicking two goals. Also laid three tackles which was impressive.

Andrew McDougall: Spent most of his time up forward but didn’t have the same impact as last week.

Peter Street: Was one of our better players. 20 hit outs and 1 goal. He tried hard all day.

Jarod Young: His decision making left room for improvement but laid seven tackles and did all the hard things all day.

Cameron Faulkner: Was our leading possession winner. He really stepped up but still needed to be a little cleaner with his skills.

Marty Pask: Put in a good effort. Played in a key defensive role but still managed 14 possessions and took 7 marks.

Travis Baird: He played down back and on the wing, and continued to improve in a few key areas of his game.

Rob Castello: Played down back and did well which shows just how versatile he can be.

Michael Rockefeller: Made a very good debut finishing with 18 possessions. Worked very hard around the stoppages and showed us why we recruited him over pre-season.

Sam Wormald: Used the ball well but needed to find a bit more of it.

Scott Howard: Wasn’t beaten on the day and was able to apply a lot of pressure on his opposition.

Dom Gleeson: Was one of our most consistent players and maintained a good work rate all game.

Jake Furfaro: Gathered 24 possessions but needed to show a little bit more concentration throughout the four quarters.

Reserves

Werribee 19.13 – 127
Northern Bullants 13.7 – 85

Goals: Lynch 6, Kennedy-Hunt 3, Hughes 2, Batchelor 2, Thompson 2, Penny, Chisholm, Eddy, Hill

Best: Lynch, Tiller, Thompson, Stack, Hill, Forster-Knight

Josh Hill: Played across the half back line. Provided the side with some good drive and tried hard all game.

Stephen Tiller: Played half back for the second week in a row. He is still learning that position but took some huge steps in the right direction.

Malcolm Lynch: Kicked 6 goals and was easily best on ground rotating through the forward line and on ball.

Paul O’Shea: Still needs some work on his decision making but his defensive pressure was great.

Gavin Hughes: Played in a variety of different positions including half forward, wing and on ball. Showed some good signs when he was able to go and win his own ball.

Tim Walsh: Was eased back into his first game back in some time. He spent the majority of his game time up in the forward line.

Brennan Stack: Returned to the side after missing some games due to injury. Played across half back and showed glimpses of what he is capable of.

Michael West: Played in the forward line and in the ruck. His ruck work is getting better but he just needs to do a little bit more around the ground.
