Western Bulldogs Senior Coach Brendan McCartney insists the team’s preparations to face his old side Geelong on Friday night will be no different to the first eight rounds.

“It is important that we know our opposition - we know already at round eight what they have been doing well and what they are not doing well,” McCartney said.

“We know who their good players are, we know who their young players are and it is the same as any opposition.”

“You prepare well enough to know them - how to attack them and play against them but still spend more than enough time on your own preparation.”

Despite his lengthy service at the Cats, McCartney insists a lot can change at a football club in 18 months.

“I’ve been out of the club for a while and things do change but they still look like they are doing a lot right to me,” he said.
