Amazing sunny mid-year weather and taking their kids to their first AFL match are priceless memories for Victorian couple Brad and Kelly Allen following their first visit to Caloundra on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast.

The Allen’s from the south-east Melbourne suburb of Ferntree Gully were the lucky winners of a Caloundra Tourism three-night holiday prize in mid-August that included tickets and limousine transfer to the Gabba to watch the Brisbane Lions round 20 clash against the Western Bulldogs.

Mum Kelly won the SMS competition after visiting the Western Bulldogs website. She said it was a great opportunity for the AFL debut of Talia, 5, and Hunter, 2, who loved all the excitement of seeing the Doggies 18-point victory.

“Caloundra’s weather was gorgeous and there was heaps to do for a young family,” Kelly said. “We also found the people to be very friendly and would definitely like to come back for another holiday.”

Brad, who works in the IT industry,  follows the Doggies and his favourite player is forward Robert Murphy.

The Caloundra prize included accommodation at the stunning Aspect Caloundra, and passes to nearby major attractions including Australia Zoo with over 1000 native and exotic animals, Aussie World Family Fun Park located behind the iconic Ettamogah Pub and set in beautiful native Australian gardens with over 30 rides and games to choose from, and the Big Kart Track which is the largest commercial go-kart track in Australia.
