WESTERN BULLDOGS forward Josh Hill believes the win over the Brisbane Lions last round have reignited the team's season.

Speaking after the Dogs' 14-point win over Geelong at Docklands on Friday night, Hill said his side regained some strong momentum with the win.

He said the Dogs were also ready to tackle the Cats again after a shattering two-point loss after the siren in round nine, when red, white and blue skipper Brad Johnson kicked a behind from a tough angle in the pocket.

"[We're] very happy with the win. We focused on a few things since the last time we played them and we worked on things to improve and we showed them tonight," he said.

"Now we'll really work on getting next week over and hopefully we might be able to get third spot going into the finals."

Hill was the Dogs' leading goalkicker with three majors, including a crucial goal in the final term. He also had 20 touches and five inside-50s to be among his side's important contributors.

This continued some fine recent form from Hill, who acknowledged his game had gone to another level in recent weeks.

"To kick three goals and to share the load, it was good and it was a good feeling to win the game," he said.

"[I've worked on] small things like my tackle pressure, blocking and working hard in the forward line."

Despite playing every match this season, Hill still doesn't feel as though he has secured a position in the side.

"There are always spots there [to be taken], but I've played every game this year and I'm just looking forward to the finals, so we'll see how we go there," he said.
