The Western Bulldogs today announced vice-captain Daniel Giansiracusa has re-signed with the Club.

After a stellar 2010 season where he placed third in the Bulldogs' Best and Fairest, Giansiracusa produced another outstanding year in 2011 finishing in the AFL’s top ten for goals kicked and scoreboard impact at the end of the regular season.

The lively forward enjoyed a career-best 45 goals in a season where he also reached the impressive 200 game milestone.

The Club stalwart said although the season had its disappointments, he was pleased with his form and subsequent re-signing.

“It was a slow start to the year with a few niggles… I found a way to get into some reasonable form including a patch there which was probably the best footy I played in my career.”

“I’m thrilled to have been given the opportunity to continue my career at a club I love and have spent the past 12 years at… I’m looking forward to seeing our group rebound next season and to see our great young talent continually improve.”

“It’s an exciting time,” he said.

Giansiracusa’s re-signing added to a long list of Bulldogs to re-commit to the Club this year including skipper and Charles Sutton Medallist Matthew Boyd, Daniel Cross, Easton Wood, Liam Picken, Tom Williams, Jarrad Grant, Jayden Schofield, Jason Tutt and father-son recruits Tom Liberatore and Mitch Wallis.

The Club expects that further re-signings would be announced shortly.
