The Western Bulldogs would like to congratulate Chris Grant on his induction into the AFL Hall Of Fame at Crown Palladium last night.

The former captain played 341 games in the red, white and blue over 18 memorable seasons which included two Charlie Sutton Medals and three All-Australian Guernsey’s.

 Drafted with pick 108 in the 1988 AFL draft, Grant kicked 51 goals in his debut season at the age of 17 making him the youngest player in VFL-AFL history to achieve that feat — Grant went on to add a further 503 goals for the Bulldogs.

A member of the Bulldogs Team of the Century and an inaugural Footscray-Western Bulldogs Hall Of Fame inductee, Grant has played the second most games in a Bulldogs Guernsey and currently serves as the Club’s Football Director .

Western Bulldogs Chief Executive Simon Garlick said Grant personified the Bulldog spirit and that he had provided many highlights throughout his 18 year career.

“Chris’ induction into the AFL Hall Of Fame is just recognition and reward for an outstanding career in football.

“A tremendous servant of the Club and the game broadly, we offer our congratulations to one of the Bulldogs favourite sons,” Garlick said.
