Season Overview:
Providing an experienced head in a developing forward structure, Daniel Giansiracusa’s craft and consistency was invaluable to the Club’s front six this season. Of his 17 senior games Giansiracusa registered a major in 16 of them, while he kicked multiple goals on eight occasions. With over a decade of senior football behind him, Giansiracusa adopted a mentoring role in the forward line both on game day and in training with his vast experience proving very beneficial to the young, emerging forwards.

By the Numbers:
Giansiracusa reigned the forward line stats-wise leading the Club goal kicking standings with 28. Highlighting his craft close to goal, Giansiracusa also ranked second in goal assists at the Kennel with 12, was third for marks inside the Bulldogs forward 50m and ranked equal seventh for inside 50s.

Season Highlight:
While the 230 gamer had a number of valuable contributions across the home and away season, his season’s best performance came in the Bulldogs’ round two away clash against Adelaide at AAMI Stadium. Collecting 20 disposals at 75% efficiency and five marks (three inside the Bulldogs 50m arc), Giansiracusa asserted his influence around goal. He had four inside 50s, kicked one goal and assisted in a further three.

Pre-Season Focus:
It’s another big pre-season ahead for Giansiracusa as the Bulldogs ready themselves for 2013. A late season knee injury isn’t expected to hinder Giansiracusa’a preparation for his 13th season of senior football, with his rehabilitation progressing to schedule.  The stalwart is expected to continue his mentoring role with the young small forwards and will again set the example for many in terms of application and performance in fitness testing and craft work.
