The Western Bulldogs secured a commanding 21-point win over the Darebin Falcons in their Round 2 VFLW clash at Mission Whitten Oval.

The Bulldogs showcased their dominance in a clinical performance, locking in a 6.6 (42) to 3.3 (21) victory on Saturday morning.

From the opening bounce, the Bulldogs asserted control, with Heidi Woodley striking within the first minute to set the tone.

The Dogs’ relentless pressure saw them surge to a 26-point lead by quarter-time while keeping Darebin scoreless in the first half.

Heidi Woodley, Mali McLeod, Brianna McFarlane and Analea McKee lit up the scoreboard with their goals, electrifying the home crowd.

The third quarter saw Darebin fight back, slotting their first two goals of the match, but the Bulldogs responded through Woodley’s second major to maintain a 20-point buffer.

The final quarter was a tight affair, with McLeod’s early goal sparking the crowd and stretching the lead to 35 points. Despite a late push from the Falcons, the red, white and blue held firm to secure the 21-point win.

Ellie Gavalas led the way with 23 disposals, while Jasmyn Smith and Woodley each racked up 20.

McKee also impressed with 16 disposals and eight tackles, showcasing her impact.

The Bulldogs next challenge awaits in Round 3 when they face Collingwood on Saturday 3 May at Victoria Park.
