Watch BulldogsTV highlights of new recruit Jake Stringer on the media player above.

A lover of the contest, Stringer has many standout attributes, including the ability to win his own ball, tackle and chase, as well as thriving in more of an attacking role.

A serious leg fracture limited his game time in 2011 with some flow on affect in 2012 but a strong performance for VFL side Bendigo Gold later in the year indicated he is on the rebound.

Splitting his time between Bendigo Gold, Bendigo Pioneers, AIS-AFL Academy and Vic Country, the young pup has impressed in various competitions looking comfortable not only with players his own age but with the bigger, older bodies.

A nine goal haul for Bendigo Pioneers in the first round of the TAC Cup was a highlight of Stringer’s year.

AFL.com.au says: Tall forward/defender who excels one-on-one with his marking and body positioning. His kicking is both penetrating and precise, whether forward or back, and he has good speed off the mark. Thrives on the contest and tackles strongly. Overcome serious leg injury last season to play some excellent football for Bendigo Pioneers this year and represent Vic Country in the NAB AFL Under-18 Championships. AIS-AFL Academy graduate.

Dalrymple said: Jake is a forward/midfielder who can take a contested mark and has shown the ability to kick multiple goals. He is also flexible enough to go through the midfield and win contested ball. He suffered a well-publicised injury to his leg, but we’re confident that under a full-time professional football program, he will be able to play to his full potential.
