Following their recent promotion to the English Premier League, Birmingham City’s Head of Sport Science and Conditioning, Ben Rosenblatt visited the Western Bulldogs this week, to gain a behind the scenes insight into AFL Football.

Rosenblatt says he has been impressed by the Western Bulldogs, which is a considerable accolade considering the high esteem in which the Premier League is held in elite international sport.

“I have been really impressed by how the players manage and lead themselves.  It has been a really worthwhile experience with all the performance staff and I think the facilities are outstanding,” he said.

Rosenblatt’s positive feedback is testament to how far the Western Bulldogs have evolved since the turn of the century.

“The management, support staff and players are all top class professionals.  I really appreciate the hospitality and how open and welcoming everyone has been.”

As part of his unofficial visit, Rosenblatt will be a guest at tonight’s game against Richmond and he is really looking forward to the experience.
“I’m buzzing for it,” he said.

Let’s hope that Birmingham City’s recent success in achieving promotion to the English top flight will rub off on the Bulldogs for their Premiership Mission in 2009.
