The LeasePlan Western Bulldogs are delighted to announce the re-signing of exciting midfielder Adam Cooney, who this week re-signed with the Bulldogs until the end of 2010.

Cooney’s decision to extend his contract prior to its expiry this season comes off the back of Scott West also extending his contract until 2008 last week.

Senior Coach Rodney Eade said he was pleased with Cooney’s decision to sign a long term contract, noting his importance to the team’s future.

“I think Adam’s decision to sign a long term contract prior to the expiry of his current contract says a lot about the fact that the club is heading in the right direction. Adam, like every player on our list, can see a bright future in store for the team if we continue to work hard and I am delighted that Adam wants to be a part of the future,” said Eade.

Eade said Cooney’s centre clearance work and overall ball winning ability made him one of the biggest assets to the Bulldogs list, and was excited about what else Cooney could achieve during his future at the Bulldogs.
