Liam Jones and Nathan Djerrkura return to the Western Bulldogs side bound for Darwin to face the Gold Coast Suns this Saturday, the only two changes to the side that defeated North Melbourne  by three goals last weekend.

Assistant Coach Shannon Grant is looking forward to the duo slotting back into the Bulldogs forward set-up.

“Jonesy comes back into the side… he’s had a really good week on the track,” Grant said.

“So we are certainly looking forward to the way he comes back and works in tandem with Ayce [Cordy] who is really starting to find his straps as a key forward for us down there.”

Nathan Djerrkura’s defensive pressure in the forward half and relentless second efforts will be a welcome addition to the team that defeated North Melbourne last Sunday.

With inclusion in the Club's 22, Djerrkura and Jones will have the chance to play in front of family and friends in the Northern Territory after a week on the sidelines.

While Djerrkura came to the Whitten Oval from the Northern Territory via Geelong, Jones has a number of relatives who live in the territory.

Hard nut Clay Smith has also retained his spot after he was a late inclusion last week for Adam Cooney.

Young Jordan Roughead and Patrick Veszpremi make way for the two inclusions with respective calf and groin complaints.

Grant believes the Bulldogs have named a fairly balanced side with added flexibility.

“Overall she is a pretty balanced side - there is a lot of flexibility where we can play guys in different areas of the ground,” he said.

“Looking at the team we are starting to become quite settled.

“We’re certainly looking forward to a good showing this weekend against the Gold Coast.”
