The Western Bulldogs and Victoria University today launched the annual Winter Scarf Appeal to help those most in need in the West during the coldest months of the year.

Through the Appeal we encourage out footy and community supporters to purchase a Bulldogs scarf for $10 - that scarf is then donated to local Western Region charities for distribution to those doing it tough, especially during winter.

In its second year, the Winter Scarf Appeal has already distributed thousands of scarves to those in need in the West.

Long serving Western Region Street Worker, Les Twentyman has thrown his support behind this important initiative.

“It’s the toughest time I can ever remember with many families scared to turn on heating and are going to bed early so they can financially cope,” Twentyman said.

The Western Bulldogs today called on Members, Fans and our local community to buy a Bulldogs scarf and play their role in supporting the most disadvantaged in our community.

Scarves can be purchased over the next two weeks and will be available at the Western Bulldogs clash against Port Adelaide at Etihad Stadium on Sunday the 17th of June.

At the conclusion of the Appeal, students from Victoria University will assist local charities to distribute the scarves across the West.

Three ways of purchasing a scarf for only $10 are:

1. Bulldogs Central @ Whitten Oval

2. Bulldogs Direct by clicking here

3. Western Bulldogs clash against Port Adelaide at Etihad Stadium on Sunday the 17th of June.
