Shaun Higgins is set to spend a number of weeks on the sidelines, with Medical Services Manager Andrew McKenzie today confirming the Western Bulldogs forward has injured his hamstring.

The 24 year-old was substituted out of Saturday’s clash against Carlton in the third quarter, with test today revealing the extent of the soft tissue injury.

“[A hamstring injury] has been confirmed today with an MRI - a small bleed, so he will start his rehab today and miss at least a couple of weeks,” McKenzie said.

Another casualty from the weekend is rookie Jack Redpath who fractured his wrist playing for Williamstown on Sunday.

“That is a really disappointing injury - he has fractured both bones in his wrist and that has been plated last night,” McKenzie said.

“The surgeon said it has gone well, so good luck to Jack.

“His rehab will start in a few weeks but he will miss the rest of the year.”

Defenders Easton Wood and Lukas Markovic are continuing to rehabilitate their hamstring injuries as expected.
