Western Bulldogs Chief Executive Campbell Rose said today that the Club was pleased with its fixture for the upcoming Season.

“From a football perspective we are pleased with the draw, we are travelling less than we did in 2010 and our two byes are spread well throughout the year.

“We have lost a couple of Friday night games compared to the 2010 Season but we will be playing more games on Saturday, which I am sure will please our fans.  From a commercial perspective it is not a strong as we would have hoped for but we will work hard to maximise our opportunities,” Rose said.

The Club is also pleased to secure another home game in Canberra.

The Club will also travel to Perth (twice), the Gold Coast, Sydney and Adelaide throughout the Season.

“We have put a great deal of effort into building the AFL and the Western Bulldogs brand in the ACT and we look forward to continuing this journey.  We will not be travelling to Darwin in 2011 but in saying that we look forward to taking our supporters with us for our first game on the Gold Coast in Round 14,” he said.

Rose also said the Club was excited about the prospect of hosting some big crowds in 2011.

“We are looking forward to hosting Richmond, Hawthorn, Melbourne, Carlton and Essendon throughout the year which I am sure will be well attended games with a terrific atmosphere.”
