JASON Akermanis continued his sizzling form and impressive goal kicking with a nomination for this week’s Toyota AFL Goal of the Year. Akermanis ran onto the loose ball while fending off strong pressure from Shaun Burgoyne to find position and kick a brilliant goal off the ground.
Bulldog fans are urged to view and vote for Akermanis’ goal at www.afl.com.au/markgoal. Voting is open from the Monday after each round through to the following Sunday night.
In 2008, the winner of the Toyota AFL Goal of the Year award will receive;
- The use of a TRD Aurion for 12 months, presented by Toyota
- $5000 for their grassroots club, presented by Toyota
- A crystal replica of the official perpetual Toyota AFL Goal of the Year trophy
- The Phil Manassa Medal
At the end of the 22 round Toyota AFL Premiership season, the AFL All-Australian Selection Committee will decide the overall winner from the 22 weekly winners.
The awards will be the presented during 2008 Toyota AFL Grand Final week.
