Distance makes the heart grow fonder for one group of dedicated Western Bulldogs fans.

The West Australian Supporters Group have proven their commitment to the Bulldoze the Debt Campaign, excelling in their fundraising efforts to donate $9,000 to the club so far this season.

Acting Treasurer Pat Costello presented Western Bulldogs Chief Executive Simon Garlick with the donation cheque on his recent visit to Melbourne.

The constant support and commitment from the WA Supporters Group has seen the group growing exponentially to around 400 members since the group’s inception fifteen years ago.

Since introducing a formalised committee in 2001 they have donated over $42,000 to the Western Bulldogs for redevelopment purposes.

The WA Supporter Group are a vocal addition at any Perth based Bulldogs game, with match day functions taking place whenever the Bulldogs take on the West Coast Eagles or Fremantle at Subiaco.

The functions include a pre-game get together, proceeding to the stadium as a group to give support to the boys.

The game day functions also provide opportunities to be involved in fundraising raffles and memorabilia auctions with all proceeds being returned to the football club.

All West Australian supporters are invited to join the supporter group and get involved.
