Double break ends Goodes' year
Rookie defender Brett Goodes will miss the remainder of the season, after x-rays last night confirmed a double fracture to his left forearm.
Goodes underwent surgery Sunday morning to stabilise the area.
The 29 year-old suffered the injury early in the fourth quarter of the Western Bulldogs' gallant 19-point loss to Hawthorn at Aurora Stadium.

Among the Dogs’ leading ball winners in the opening half, Goodes collected 17 disposals along with four tackles playing off half-back before coming from the field.
In his debut season of senior football, the mature-age rookie has been a revelation down back, playing 13 games and averaging 21 disposals and five marks per game.
Goodes becomes the fifth Bulldog to be ruled out for the remainder of 2013 through injury, joining Clay Smith (knee), Jason Johannisen (shoulder), Shaun Higgins (foot) and Tom Williams (shoulder) on the sidelines.
