Bragging rights for the top polling Bulldog at Monday night's Brownlow Medal were shared, with midfield duo Ryan Griffen and Tom Liberatore both registering 14 votes.

Sweeping the votes on offer in six of the Club's eight wins, the Bulldogs put in an improved polling performance on the back of a strong finish to the 2013 home and away season.

As a club, the Bulldogs polled 21 more votes than the 2012  and achieved six more best on ground performances.

Four players achieving this honour on multiple occasions, compared to 2012 in which no Bulldog received the three votes on multiple occasions.

While Griffen entered the Monday night event heavily favoured to poll top votes for the Bulldogs, the All Australian wingman only managed to record the maximum three votes on two occasions - but his  consistent form saw him receive votes in seven of his 20 games.

Bettering last year’s figure by three votes, the 27-year-old’s haul saw him surpass 50 career votes.

One of just 12 players in the league to boast four or more best on ground performances, Liberatore caught the umpires’ eyes with his workhorse manner in close and increased work rate outside the contest.

Having never received a Brownlow vote prior to Monday night, his 14 vote tally was a strong acknowledgement of the breakout year he had.

Liberatore joined Brett Goodes (two), Koby Stevens (two), Tory Dickson (one) and Michael Talia (one) in registering the first Brownlow votes of their careers.

Captain Matthew Boyd continued to be a popular choice with the umpires, amassing seven votes from 13 games, including two best on ground performances.

Adding to his five career Brownlow votes, Luke Dahlhaus also managed to turn heads to finish with seven votes from the final eight rounds.

Another Bulldog who finished the season strongly was Adam Cooney, who produced votes in three of the final four rounds to tie with Boyd and Dahlhaus on the leaderboard.

Robert Murphy (three), Will Minson (two), Jarrad Grant (two) and Daniel Giansiracusa (one) punctuated their respective seasons also earning votes on the night.

As a club, the Bulldogs (61 votes) outpolled West Coast Eagles (53), St Kilda (42), GWS Giants (17) and Melbourne (16) and were just one vote shy equalling the Gold Coast Suns (62).
