A new look NAB Cup fixture has been released for 2014 today with the Western Bulldogs set for two Wednesday night clashes in Victoria.

In the new format where 18 games will be spread over 18 consecutive days, the Dogs will open next year’s campaign against St Kilda on Wednesday 19 February 2014 at Simonds Stadium from 7:10pm.

The Club will then go on to play this year’s grand finalists’ Fremantle at Etihad Stadium the following week, on Wednesday 26 February 2014 at 7:10pm.

AFL General Manager – Broadcasting, Scheduling and Major Projects Simon Lethlean said every game in the revamped NAB Challenge format would be broadcast live by key partner Foxtel or on Fox Footy throughout the tournament.

“All clubs have a minimum six-day break between their games and every match has been scheduled either as a night game or late-afternoon match to avoid the peak heat in the late summer period,” Mr Lethlean said.

"The shortened format enables clubs to use their senior players as they see fit to prepare for the opening to the premiership season, as well as offering the flexibility to provide opportunities for new players and rookies that is such a key feature of the NAB Challenge.”
