The Western Bulldogs are pleased to announce Brendan McCartney has signed a contract extension that will see him continue as Senior Coach until the end of 2016.
McCartney will lead the team into its next phase of development, after building strong foundations in his first two seasons at the helm.
Chief Executive Simon Garlick said the Club had a clear pathway and McCartney was central to the Bulldogs plans going forward.
“The Western Bulldogs had a clear vision when Brendan was appointed two years ago to become a sustainable and successful football club,” Garlick said.
“While we don't underestimate the amount of work required to achieve our aims, we believe this is another logical step in our journey as a football Club.”
Garlick commended the solidarity shown by the Club and its stakeholders throughout the past two years and said it was looking forward to beginning the next period of growth.
“The Board, the greater organisation, and our members and fans should be acknowledged for the collective stability it has shown to date, particularly through its anticipated challenges.
“We are excited to be entering this new chapter with Brendan continuing as Senior Coach, which we believe is a key part in achieving our overall vision,” Garlick said.
