Former GWS Giant Sam Darley will be playing in Western Bulldogs colours in 2014, after officially joining the kennel today.
The defender, who has played 13-games for the Giants, was traded to the Bulldogs on the final day of Gillette Trade Week in return for pick 78.
Taken as a priority 17-year-old in 2010, Darley played four games in 2013 including 20 possessions and five rebound 50s against Sydney in round 16.
The 20-year-old predominantly played through the midfield in his junior career but has also successfully been trialled running out of defence for the Giants and their state league affiliate.
Bulldogs List Manager Jason McCartney said acquiring Darley was another great result for the Club in this trade period.
“Sam showed some real promise at AFL level late in the year in shutdown roles but also provided some flexibility with his outside run and precise foot skills,” McCartney said.
“This is a great outcome for Sam and the Club.”
