Mature-aged rookie Brett Goodes will be promoted to the senior list after enjoying a strong debut season in 2013.

Goodes showed great maturity and flair throughout his 13 games this season, leading the Club in average rebound 50s as a hard, creative defender.

The 29-year-old proved a handy acquisition, averaging almost 21 possessions a game, although a fractured wrist unfortunately ended his season prematurely in round 17.

A 27-disposal game which included six tackles and eight rebound 50s against Adelaide in round four was a highlight, along with his debut game where he collected 24 possessions in the round one win against Brisbane.

Before being drafted, Goodes was named in the 2012 VFL Team of the Year on the half back flank, playing for the Bulldogs’ then affiliate Williamstown.

Goodes’ promotion will be made official at the NAB AFL Draft on November 21.
