Hawthorn and Fremantle may be the only remaining clubs in the race for the 2013 Premiership Cup but Western Bulldogs Senior Coach Brendan McCartney still has a role to play in tomorrow’s AFL Grand Final.

Announced as the chairman of the Norm Smith Medal Selection Panel on Friday morning, the Bulldogs’ coach will help adjudicate the best player afield on game day.

McCartney is joined by media representatives Karl Langdon (6PR), Glenn McFarlane (Herald Sun), Adam McNicol (AFL Media) and Tony Shaw (3AW) to vote on the medal recipient.

The Medal is named in honour of legendary Melbourne player and coach Norm Smith who coached six premiership sides from eight grand final appearances between 1952 and 1967.

The 2013 Toyota AFL Grand Final will commence at 2:30pm on Saturday at the Melbourne Cricket Ground.
