Ryan Griffen’s 37 possession masterclass against Hawthorn on Saturday further confirms his place among the competition’s elite, with the performance catapulting him into ninth place in the official AFL player ratings.
Leapfrogging both West Coast’s Nic Naitanui and Hawthorn’s Cyril Rioli to enter the top ten, the 26-year-old Western Bulldog is in scintillating form, amassing 30+ disposals on eight occasions and leading the league in average inside 50s.
His statistical dominance does not end there, showing he can be damaging both inside and outside the contest, sitting in 12th place for average clearances, ninth in contested possessions, sixth in disposals and sixth in effective disposals per game.
Griffen joins Bulldogs captain Matthew Boyd (19) in the AFL player ratings top 20, while the Club’s third placed Tom Liberatore is on the verge of breaking into the top 50 – currently ranked 51st overall and 37th in the midfield.
