Western Bulldogs Chief Executive, Simon Garlick has thanked the hundreds of members and fans who have contributed to the Club’s Debt Reduction Campaign (formerly  Bulldoze the Debt) with the unveiling of the Club’s debt reduction wall last week.

Garlick thanked everyone for their commitment to the campaign which is helping the Club reach the goal to become a sustainable and successful football club – both on and off the field.

“We know that all the people listed on this wall have confidence that the Club is heading in the right direction," he said.

“The Wall is our opportunity to say thank you to all who have contributed and recognise their contribution for all time.”

The debt reduction wall takes pride and place in front of the iconic EJ Whitten Stand at Whitten Oval.

Sitting behind the wall are a growing number of seat plaques which form part of the Buy a Seat program, a once in a lifetime opportunity for members and fans to have their very own seat, and commemorative plaque in the stand.

Together, these two campaigns have made a significant contribution to reducing our debt, wiping almost $1.4 million off our target, but we still have a way to go.

“Our strategy and our priority has been and will continue to be to direct as many resources as we can into our footy department. The more that goes into a football department, the more successful the Club.”

“The reality is that we still need to continue to reduce our debt so we can further invest in our most important key area – football.  We still need to help the Club take an almighty bite out of the debt and give the team the best chance to achieve the ultimate success,” Garlick said.
