The Western Bulldogs have made four changes to the team this week, adding a mix of youth and mature bodies for the Gold Coast clash on Saturday.
2012 draftees, Stringer and Macrae return to the senior ranks, alongside mature aged recruits Brett Goodes and Koby Stevens who will add some extra hardness to the Bulldogs lineup.
Stringer has been impressive in his debut season, kicking four goals from his first three games, while his tackling pressure has also been felt.
“Jake Stringer, I think all our fans and all our coaches and other players have really been looking forward to getting Jake back into the side after a couple of weeks off,” he said.
“We know he’s hard, he’s competitive and he knows where the goals are.”
Fellow 2012 recruit Macrae has also looked comfortable at senior level, averaging 13 disposals, two clearances and two tackles despite starting as a substitute against Geelong in round five.
After serving a two week suspension, Goodes will also return to the fold, providing rebound out of the back six.
“With Goodes coming back in we get some good use and a nice hard nut in our back six,” Montgomery said.
Stevens will also bolster the Bulldogs running stocks, adding versatility to the team’s midfield.
Mitch Wallis, Jason Tutt, Mark Austin and Dylan Addison have all been omitted from last week’s side.
