The Western Bulldogs visited local not-for profit business A Gesture this week as part of the Club’s ‘Bulldogs Blitz’ which saw players out and about promoting the ‘Team of the Mighty West’ in the Bulldogs heartland.

A Gesture’s dual purpose is to ‘rescue food’ and  supply it to  local charities while providing community members with hands-on personal training.

Captain Ryan Griffen, Matthew Fuller, Mitch Honeychurch and Tom Campbell visited A Gesture to help trainees sort fresh food – which was then be distributed to charities throughout the West and North of Melbourne.

During the visit the players passed on tips to A Gesture trainees about healthy eating and nutrition and answered questions about the challenges they have faced and overcome in their careers.

The Bulldogs also happily signed hats and posters and gave out tickets to the Bulldogs Round 2 game versus North Melbourne at Etihad – the team’s first home match for the year.

The Blitz is the Club’s opportunity to say ‘thank you’ to dedicated fans and Members in the West while also introducing new people to AFL and the Club

The entire playing list, Coaching and Football Staff, Club staff, Directors, former Club greats were out in the West during the Blitz targeting local shopping strips, centres and markets, schools, local businesses, trains stations and schools.
