To mark International Breast Cancer Awareness ‘Pink Month’ this October, the Western Bulldogs and Mission Foods are pleased to donate $8550 to the National Breast Cancer Foundation (NBCF) as proceeds from the auction of limited edition player signed and worn pink training guernsey.
The complete Bulldogs playing list wore the guernseys in their main training session in the preparation for the Round 18 Multicultural Round match-up between the Club and Essendon.
The guernseys were auctioned off online by the club, with all the proceeds going to NBCF to help fund vital breast cancer research.
Mission Foods Asia & Oceania Vice President of Marketing , Maria Mitropoulos said both organisations were proud of the fundraising effort and the generosity of the Western Bulldogs fans that bid on the guernseys.
“Mission Foods are proud to foster a relationship between the Western Bulldogs and NBCF to raise funds for breast cancer research and increase awareness through the auction of the Limited Edition NBCF Pink Western Bulldogs Training Guernsey,” Mitropoulos said.
“Breast Cancer has touched many Australians and we hope to further their mission of providing help and inspiring hope to those affected by breast cancer through early detection, education, and support services, through our donation.”
National Breast Cancer Foundation Chief Executive Officer, Carole Renouf, thanked both Mission Foods and the Western Bulldogs for their generosity.
“Since our inception, through research, we’ve made significant progress in helping improve the lives of people with breast cancer. But there is still much more to do. With the help of the support from supporters like Mission Foods and Western Bulldogs, we are committed to striving towards a cure and our goal of zero deaths by 2030,” said Ms Renouf.
“I would like to thank Mission Foods and the Western Bulldogs for their work on this auction, and a special thank you to all those who bid for and donated to own a Pink Training Guernsey.”
