The Western Bulldogs midfield is littered with a mix of the competition’s elite, rising young talent and fresh faces just waiting for their senior opportunity – making it an AFL fantasy coach’s dream.
Names like Ryan Griffen ($571,800) and Tom Liberatore ($527,000) are sure to feature in many AFL Fantasy coaches’ teams throughout the season, as they work in tandem through the Bulldogs midfield.
While Matthew Boyd ($563,300) was hampered by injuries last year, a strong pre-season campaign should see the prolific fantasy football scorer return to favour.
Brownlow Medallist Adam Cooney is another who has returned to the elite category (92.63 point average) in 2013 and is in great condition for the season ahead.
In the next tier down, an in form Mitch Wallis ($379,100) looks to be on the verge of joining fellow 2010 father-son recruit Liberatore in making a bigger impact this season.
The 21-year-old may have excelled in a run-with role through the midfield late last year but his ability to hurt the opposition offensively means he should still amass decent AFL Fantasy scores.
Three of the 2012 draftees Jack Macrae (63.54 on average), Nathan Hrovat (58.43), and Lachie Hunter (51.56) could provide value as the trio aim for more game time in 2014.
There are also three senior listed Bulldogs midfielders yet to make their debut, who come at bargain basement prices including Josh Prudden ($115,200), Marcus Bontempelli ($254,700) and Mitch Honeychurch ($135,500).
Rookies Lin Jong ($215,300) and Alex Greenwood ($115,200) are also worth keeping an eye on as they aim for elevation to the senior squad.
