The Western Bulldogs took to regional Victoria on Tuesday 13 May 2014 as part of the annual AFL country visits, including Bendigo, Echuca, Mildura and Myrtleford.

Visiting more than 20 schools and conducting four group sessions, the players participated in a range of footy clinics, leadership talks and question and answer sessions across the state.

Supported by AFL Victoria, the Bulldogs took their message to the wider region to try to engage with young fans who may not get the opportunity to attend regular premiership season games.

The playing group also promoted the benefits of living a healthy lifestyle, teamwork, leadership and fair play.

Bulldogs captain Ryan Griffen was also hopeful that the country visits could sway some young AFL fans to form an allegiance with the red, white and blue.

"We hope so," Griffen said. "That's the whole point of coming out here, trying to get the young kids on board and hopefully they grow up to be Bulldogs supporters."
