Western Bulldogs midfielder Josh Dunkley is looking forward to heading back to Ballarat to face the Brisbane Lions this Saturday afternoon at Mars Stadium.
Ahead of their first of two games at Mars Stadium this season, the 22-year-old told Ballarat’s PowerFM that the playing group are looking forward to embracing the Ballarat community this weekend.
“We all get really excited when the Ballarat games come around. We love playing on the surface (at Mars Stadium) and the fans up there are really supportive, so the boys can’t wait to get into it,” Dunkley said.
Off the back of an impressive win over Richmond at Marvel Stadium last week, Dunkley said that the group are feeling optimistic ahead of the clash with the Lions.
“We’re feeling really good, really positive. We still have a few things to work on coming out of the Richmond game, but it was great that we could produce that four-quarter effort,” said Dunkley.
“We’re going to try and implement the way that we played last week against Richmond and try to beat the Brisbane Lions at what they do best – which is the contested footy – so hopefully we can do that.”
