Fergus Greene isn’t a huge fan of heights.

But that didn’t stop him from tackling the Tree Top Challenge on the team’s Sunshine Coast camp and conquering his fears with the help of a couple of teammates.

“I’m actually quite petrified of heights,” Greene said.

“It was a challenge for me, I’m pretty sure at some stage I was pale white.”

“I was lucky enough to have ‘Jongy’ complete it with me.

“He shook the course a lot of times, but was also pretty encouraging and was probably the reason I got through it.

“Ryan Gardner and ‘Hunts’ had a fair crack as well – but it was a bit of fun by the end.”

This pre-season has been an enjoyable one for Greene, as he returns from a shoulder injury which cut his 2019 campaign short.

After playing five AFL games in 2018, the 22-year-old forward is hoping he can push for senior selection this year.

“It was a long lay off and a pretty frustrating one too,” Greene said.

“Getting back into match-play now gives me so much enjoyment.

“Seeing how well the boys were playing (last year), you just wanted to be part of it.

“I just want to get back out there and get a bit of form going and to try to find that level I was playing at before the injuries to try to get back into that AFL side.

“I got a taste in 2018, and hopefully I can prove myself and get another opportunity there.”
