WorkSafe Victoria will partner with the Western Bulldogs Community Foundation for the next three years.
The naming rights partnership will see the foundation now known as the WorkSafe Western Bulldogs Community Foundation (WBCF), and will help to facilitate and further develop its diverse program offering in Melbourne and Victoria’s west.
Some of the programs that will benefit from the partnership include Ready, Settle, Go!, the Nallei Jerring Koori Youth Leadership Program, Sons of the West and Daughters of the West.
WBCF General Manager, Kashif Bouns, said the partnership would enable the Foundation to better inspire its community.
“WorkSafe has been a partner of the Western Bulldogs for more than 10 years, and it’s fantastic to see them renew their focus with the Club in the community space,” he said.
“The partnership will see WorkSafe integrating with our community streams, presenting content which showcases the powerful stories unearthed within our programs.
“We are proud of the impact we have made in the community in the areas of health and wellbeing, diversity and social inclusion, youth leadership and community advocacy.
“Having committed partners like WorkSafe is crucial for our ability to maintain our service to the community through our programs, and we are incredibly grateful for their support.”
In 2018, more than 5000 people engaged with WBCF programs in 15 municipalities across Melbourne and Victoria’s west.
The Foundation’s impact on its community continues to grow with the introduction of new programs, including the GOAL Program for African Australian youth in 2019.
Joining forces with WorkSafe will also help raise awareness of the importance of workplace health and safety among those starting work in Victoria for the first time.
The program sees WorkSafe’s connection with the Bulldogs, which began in 2003, continue in a different form.
“WorkSafe is proud of its long association with the Western Bulldogs and excited by this new partnership,” said WorkSafe CEO Claire Amies.
“The knowledge and attitudes of new workers and emerging leaders have a real impact on future workplace health and safety outcomes, and WorkSafe is always looking for opportunities to influence these.”
State Member for Altona and Minister for Workplace Safety, Jill Hennessy, said the partnership would have a positive impact.

“Workplace health and safety should be the first priority in all workplaces and equipping future leaders and new workers to help achieve this is a worthwhile investment.”
