After an off-season where the Bulldogs secured highly-rated Coach Luke Beveridge and named Club Stalwart Bob Murphy Captain, newly re-appointed Board member Chris Grant says it’s onwards and upwards for the Club in 2015.
“While we have experience some change recently, there’s a lot of positivity around the Club, and the list are enthusiastic about their prospects under the guidance and tutelage of both Luke and Bob,” Grant said.
“Having Luke come in to take those boys to another level just really gives us great confidence and we have already seen him beginning to put his stamp on the group and Club.”
The former Bulldogs captain said the Club’s younger players were developing at a fast rate and with another tough pre-season under their belts, they’re not far away from making a mark on the competition.
“Now that our younger players are starting to near that 80 game mark in their careers, it gives me confidence that they are able to consistently deal with the rigours of the game,” Grant said.
“It’s amazing how quickly things can turn. The fact that we have so many of them progressing towards that stage in their careers is really exciting for the Club.”
Following last week’s Annual General Meeting where Grant was re-appointed for a further three years, the former Bulldogs Captain said he was thrilled to continue on as a Board member in what he sees as a significant growth period for the Club.
“I’m really thankful for the opportunity to continue as a Board member of a Club I love dearly and with a group of outstanding business people and business minds who want the best for this Club,” Grant said.
“It has been incredibly exciting working alongside Peter and the Board and I look forward to being part of the growth of our football Club.”
