Bulldogs coach Luke Beveridge says Tom Boyd is on target to play the first week of the NAB Challenge against Richmond, marking his first match in Bulldogs colours.
The young forward has enjoyed a strong pre-season and Beveridge says he is ready to run out alongside his new teammates.
“He’s worked really hard, he’s had a great pre-season, you know he’s fit and he’s getting through all the miles and he’s working really closely with all the forwards.
“His teammates are excited to have him up forward and I’m sure he’ll go well, he’ll definitely put his best foot forward.”
Beveridge said that his whole playing group had set new standards for themselves over the pre-season and would all be pushing for selection in both the NAB Challenge and round one.
“We’ve got some young guys who are really keen to establish a spot in the side, so there’s some competition for some spots.”
Speaking at Footscray train station where Beveridge joined assistant coaches and Bulldogs staff on Tuesday morning, to invite commuters to the Club’s round one clash against West Coast on 4 April.
The ‘Bulldogs Blitz’ targets fans in Melbourne’s western region and will continue with player appearances this week.
