5 Reasons to get to the game on Sunday

1. Sixth v Ninth, and every match mattersEvery game matters in the countdown to September, and for the sixth placed Bulldogs and ninth placed Magpies this is especially the case. Collingwood will be looking to correct a run of four consecutive losses which has seen it slip outside the top eight for the first time this season, while the Bulldogs will be looking to bounce back after a narrow-eight point loss to the Cats in Geelong last weekend.

2. Bold, loud, proud…35k Strong
This week saw the Bulldogs eclipse their all-time membership record, cracking the 35,000 member barrier for the first time in the Club’s history. While there’s no denying the might of the Magpie Army, a Bulldogs home match extends the challenge to the Club’s faithful to arrive en-masse, and fuel a cauldron of red, white and blue under the roof at Etihad Stadium. Sunday’s afternoon clash sees football in its traditional timeslot with a bumper crowd expected to watch two young and exciting sides go head-to-head under the roof.

3. Dickson notches a half ton, Boyd celebrates 250 (plus three) games

Forward Tory Dickson hasn’t missed a game in season 2015, and notches up his 50 career match on Sunday against the Pies. Arriving at the Kennel via the 2011 AFL Draft, Dickson had an injury interrupted 2014, but has bounced back to bring his trademark pressure and dead-eye goal kicking skills to slot 26 majors and sit second the Club’s goal-kicking tally behind young-gun Jake Stringer.

With the tributes to the late Phil Walsh in his milestone match, Matthew Boyd’s 250th game banner was temporarily put to one side. The veteran half-back will get the opportunities to enjoy the fanfare on Sunday with the banner to be displayed and Boyd to run through it with his two young daughters.

4. Sunday Fun day, kids go free

If the prospect of Marcus Bontempelli and Scott Pendlebury going head-to-head isn’t enough to get you to the football, Sundays at Etihad Stadium mean a family friendly spectacular of activities, with kids gaining FREE entry to the match. The AFL Playground will be in full swing outside Gate 5, while there will be FREE popcorn, face-painting and balloons at the Footscray End inside Gate 7.
