The Club’s second pick in last year’s national draft was a welcome addition in 2015.

The 19-year-old put in an impressive pre-season display and was the first of eight debutants this year, playing his first AFL game in round three against Hawthorn.

Webb spent the majority of the season across half-back, with stints on the wing – his left foot and composure from defence a feature of his season.

He finished the year with 10 games, including a starring performance in the round five win against Sydney.

The Club showed their faith in the young talent by extending his existing two-year contract to the end of 2017.

Stat that mattered:

Webb collected 17 disposals, five marks and two tackles in round five against the Swans – his best output for the year.

What they said:

“He’s probably never played defence before and we threw him in there this year and from his very first game that he played, he slotted in well. The way that he reads the play, the intercept marks, the way he put his body on the line and backed into packs, but his ball use is brilliant as well.

“Webby’s going to be a great player for us. I’m not too sure whether he’s going to hold down a defender’s position, I think he might grow into a midfielder. Some of the work that he did at VFL level inside, I think I might lose him because he’s just too good inside as a midfielder.” – Rohan Smith (Western Bulldogs Assistant Coach), September 2015
