Easton Wood has scored a perfect 10 in the AFL Coaches Association Champion Player of the Year award for round 13.
Wood was the dominant player in a tight tussle between the Bulldogs and St Kilda on Saturday night, and takes his tally for the year to 27, sitting second behind Bob Murphy on the Dogs’ leader board.
Murphy collected seven votes to take his total to 30, while Matthew Boyd was the only other Bulldog to poll, picking up two votes from Luke Beveridge and Alan Richardson.
Beveridge described Wood’s form in the first half of the season as “off the charts”.
“(His work has) been great all year and has been benchmark stuff but tonight it was off the charts.
“His timing is impeccable at the moment, whether he’s marking or spoiling, whatever it may be, he really kept us in the game.”
Fremantle’s Nat Fyfe increased his lead to 37 votes on the overall leader board, while Sydney’s Dan Hannebery stays in second spot.
